Pompeu Fabra University (, ; lang es) is a public university located in the city of Barcelona, Catalonia in Spain. The university was created by the Autonomous Government of Catalonia in 1990 and was named after Pompeu Fabra. It is highly competitive in research and has as its goal the transformation of education to meet the challenges of the future. UPF has been ranked the best university in Spain since 2015 and 16th best young university in the world in 2022 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Pompeu Fabra University is considered one of the most prestigious universities in Spain. It has occupied first place in the national ranking of scientific productivity since 2009. Academically, the university is known for its selective student admission as more than half of the degrees offered by it have among the highest university entrance grades (selectivitat) in the Catalan university system. The university excels in national and international rankings especially in the studies of economics, political science, and law. Исследовательский центр международной экономики (Centre de Recerca en Economia Internacional (CREI)) – это исследовательский институт, финансируемый правительством Каталонии (Generalitat de Catalunya) и университетом UPF под руководством экономиста Жорди Гали. Управление
Энрик Аргуллол занимал должность ректора с момента основания до июня 2001 года, после него ректорами были М. Роза Вирос и Гальтье (2001–2005), Жозеп Жоан Моресо (2005–2013), Хауме Касалс (2013–2021) и Ориоль Амат (2021–2023). Действующий ректор Лайя де Надаль была избрана в мае 2023 года.
