Официальная валюта Сингапура
Сингапурский доллар (знак: S$; код: SGD) является официальной валютой Республики Сингапур. Он делится на 100 центов. Обычно его обозначают знаком доллара $, или S$, чтобы отличать его от других валют, номинированных в долларах. Банкноты и монеты сингапурского доллара выпускает Монетарный орган Сингапура (MAS). По состоянию на 2022 год сингапурский доллар является 10-й по объему торгов валютой в мире. Помимо использования в Сингапуре, сингапурский доллар также принимается в качестве обычной расчетной единицы в Брунее в соответствии с Соглашением о взаимозаменяемости валют между Монетарным органом Сингапура и Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (Монетарным органом Брунея Даруссалам). Валюта в обращении
По состоянию на 2012 год общая сумма валюты в обращении составила 57,278 миллиардов сингапурских долларов. Вся выпущенная в обращение сингапурская валюта (банкноты и монеты) полностью обеспечена внешними активами в Валютном фонде для поддержания доверия общественности. Эти внешние активы состоят из всех или любого из следующего: (a) золота и серебра в любой форме; (b) иностранной валюты в виде депозитов до востребования или срочных депозитов; банковских остатков и средств по требованию; казначейских векселей; банкнот или монет; (c) ценных бумаг, выпущенных или гарантированных иностранными правительствами или международными финансовыми институтами; (d) акций; (e) корпоративных облигаций; (f) валютных и финансовых фьючерсов; (g) любых других активов, которые Управление, с одобрения Президента Сингапура, сочтет подходящими для включения. Монеты
В 1967 году была введена первая серия монет номиналом 1, 5, 10, 20 и 50 центов и 1 доллар. On 21 February 2013, the Monetary Authority of Singapore announced a new series of coins in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50 cents and 1 dollar, which went into circulation on 25 June 2013, featuring Singapore's national icons and landmarks. The coins are struck on a multi ply plated steel planchet used by the Royal Canadian Mint and comes with enhanced features to differentiate from fakes. The coins also feature new designs, the one dollar, now a bi metallic coin featuring the Merlion, the fifty cents coin featuring the Port of Singapore, the twenty cent coin depicts Changi International Airport, the ten cent coin featuring public housing and the five cent coin featuring the Esplanade. The second and third series of Singaporean coins have medallic orientation. Серия кораблей 1984 года
Серия денежных знаков "Корабли" является третьим набором банкнот, выпущенных в обращение в Сингапуре. Выпущенная в период с 1984 по 1999 год, она сохраняет количество номиналов, как и в двух предыдущих сериях, но заменяет банкноту номиналом 20 долларов на банкноту номиналом 2 доллара.
