ALPSP is an inaugural signatory of the SDG Publishers Compact, and has taken steps to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the publishing industry. These include creation of the University Press Redux Sustainability Award with Cambridge University Press in 2020. The inaugural award was given to the Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD) for its SDG Pathfinder, an open access digital discovery tool for finding content and data relating to the SDGs. Also recognized were Taylor & Francis and Bristol University Press.

В сотрудничестве с Обществом научных издателей (SSP), ALPSP издает рецензируемый ежеквартальный журнал «Learned Publishing», освещающий сферу научных публикаций. Журнал находится в свободном доступе для всех членов ALPSP и SSP. Издание журнала осуществляется от имени ALPSP компанией Wiley. Журнал индексируется, имеет импакт-фактор и признается журналом высокого уровня, предлагающим стимулирующие идеи об эволюции цифровых изданий. Действующим главным редактором является Пиппа Смарт, а редактором по Северной Америке – Летти Конрад.
События
ALPSP организует ряд мероприятий, включая учебные курсы, семинары, вебинары и другие события в рамках различных встреч, таких как Франкфуртская и Лондонская книжные ярмарки. ALPSP проводит трехдневную ежегодную конференцию, которая привлекает несколько сотен участников со всего мира.
