REI открыл один из своих крупных магазинов товаров для активного отдыха в отреставрированном Вашингтонском Колизее, где в 1940-х годах играла команда NBA «Капитолс». Данные переписи населения 2020 года показали, что 6-й округ, включающий части NoMa, Navy Yard и Southwest, обеспечил треть 15-процентного роста населения Вашингтона за предыдущее десятилетие. Многолетний лагерь бездомных под эстакадой улицы K был ликвидирован в 2020 году, а аналогичные лагеря под эстакадами улиц L и M – в 2021 году. Большинство бездомных согласились переехать в квартиры в рамках городской программы. Эстакады ранее очищались около 100 раз, но люди вскоре возвращались. Действия городских властей по ликвидации лагерей вызвали критику после того, как оператор бульдозера случайно начал разбирать палатку, в которой находился человек, который в результате был госпитализирован.
Образование
В районе NoMa работают восемнадцать школ, от дошкольного образования до университета.
