Boulens is a municipality in the district Gros de Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

Boulens is first mentioned in 1142 as Bollens. In 1177 it was mentioned as Boslens. Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 2.6% and transportation infrastructure made up 1.7%. Out of the forested land, all of the forested land area is covered with heavy forests. Of the agricultural land, 47.1% is used for growing crops and 14.2% is pastures. All the water in the municipality is flowing water.

Boulens has a population of as of 2008, 6.3% of the population are resident foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years (1999 2009 ) the population has changed at a rate of 27.7%. It has changed at a rate of 29.5% due to migration and at a rate of 1.8% due to births and deaths. Most of the population (as of 2000) speaks French (190 or 90.0%), with German being second most common (13 or 6.2%) and Portuguese being third (4 or 1.9%). There is 1 person who speaks Italian. as of 2000, there were 90 people who were single and never married in the municipality. as of 2010, Boulens had an unemployment rate of 2.3%. as of 2008, there were 22 people employed in the primary economic sector and about 8 businesses involved in this sector. 26 people were employed in the secondary sector and there were 3 businesses in this sector. 8 people were employed in the tertiary sector, with 4 businesses in this sector. In 2000, there were 11 workers who commuted into the municipality and 67 workers who commuted away. The municipality is a net exporter of workers, with about 6.1 workers leaving the municipality for every one entering. Of the working population, 7.1% used public transportation to get to work, and 58.6% used a private car. During the school year, the political district provided pre school care for a total of 296 children of which 96 children (32.4%) received subsidized pre school care.
