Сан-Хосе-дель-Голфо — муниципалитет в департаменте Гватемала в Гватемале. Муниципалитет Сан-Хосе-дель-Голфо расположен в 28 километрах от столицы, к северо-востоку от Гватемалы. Его территория пересечена, он относится к горному региону Центрального нагорья республики. Муниципалитет Сан-Хосе-дель-Голфо был основан при правительстве генерала Юсто Руфино Барриоса указом № 683 от 17 марта 1882 года и присоединен к департаменту Эль-Прогресо 13 апреля 1908 года, однако спустя годы указом № 756 от 9 июня 1920 года вернулся в состав департамента Гватемала. 27 мая 2014 года четверо лидеров общины «Ла Пуя» предстали перед судом по делу о событиях 2012 года, когда они, предположительно, удерживали против их воли нескольких сотрудников горнодобывающей компании. 26 мая 2015 года после мирных переговоров члены общины «Ла Пуя» разрешили по меньшей мере тридцати сотрудникам шахты покинуть территорию в Сан-Хосе-дель-Голфо. Учитывая напряженную обстановку, Национальная полиция направила отряд антибеспорядков в качестве меры предосторожности, однако его ввод не потребовался.

4 августа 2015 года несколько грузовиков в сопровождении полиции антибеспорядков въехали на шахту «Эль Тамбор». Заметив это, многочисленные члены общины заблокировали главный вход, чтобы предотвратить въезд других грузовиков. Вновь судебная система заявила о нарушении права на свободу передвижения и потребовала от общины разойтись.

Природные бедствия
Сан-Хосе-дель-Голфо был практически уничтожен мощным землетрясением 4 февраля 1976 года; с тех пор город был восстановлен, однако оригинальная колониальная архитектура полностью погибла в результате катастрофы.
