История

Климат Болгарии умеренный, со средней температурой от … до … в январе и … в июле. Средняя высота над уровнем моря составляет … метров. Весенние температуры повышаются сравнительно рано и обычно превышают … (в первой половине марта) и … (в первой половине апреля), но иногда бывают и холодные периоды весной. Летние температуры умеренные, а среднее количество летних осадков довольно высокое, особенно в начале лета. Во второй половине лета и в начале осени наблюдается устойчивое снижение количества осадков. До середины ноября средняя осенняя температура держится выше …, а до конца октября – выше … . Зима мягкая, с относительно небольшим количеством снегопада, непродолжительным снежным покровом и низкими минимальными температурами. Наибольшее количество осадков выпадает в июне, а наименьшее – в феврале и марте. Преобладающее направление ветра – северо-восточное.
Spring temperatures rise comparatively early and are usually above (in the first half of March) and above (in the first half of April) but sometimes there are also some cold spring periods. The summer temperatures are moderate and the average summer rainfall is rather high, especially at the beginning of summer. During the second half of the summer and the beginning of the autumn, there are continuous drops in rainfall. Until the middle of November, the average autumn temperature is above , and above until the end of October. The winter is mild, with comparatively low snowfall, short lasting snow cover and low minimum temperatures. The highest rainfall is in June, and the lowest in February and March. The general wind direction is from north east.

Почвы и минеральные ресурсы
Почвенный покров тесно связан с рельефом, климатом, флорой региона и хозяйственной деятельностью человека. Разнообразная природная среда Болгарии обусловила формирование около 20 типов и подтипов почв. Для данного региона характерна преимущественно корично-лесная почва. Распространение аллювиальных отложений вдоль рек Тунджа и Енинска привело к образованию аллювиальных типов и подтипов почв. Дренаж и глубокая геологическая основа, в сочетании с засухоустойчивой и теплолюбивой лесной растительностью (дуб, вяз полевой, граб), способствуют распространению лесных почв. Обрабатываемые земли, связанные с этим типом почвы, имеют уклон, что приводит к деградации под воздействием плоскостной, линейной и овражной эрозии. Аллювиальные почвы отличаются высокой продуктивностью и представлены пахотными землями I, II и III категорий. Они занимают две трети исследуемой территории, что является препятствием для роста города. Земли в основном засажены розами и многолетними растениями. Низкопродуктивные и деградированные земли расположены преимущественно к северо-востоку от Казанлыка. Часть из них покрыта лугами и пастбищами. Регион не богат минеральными ресурсами промышленного значения, однако имеются несколько неметаллических полезных ископаемых местного значения. В местности Манастырска Нива, в двух километрах к западу от Казанлыка, находится месторождение глины для производства кирпича. Карьер по добыче грейсена для щебня, брусчатки и бордюрного камня расположен к востоку от города в местности Кара-Дере. Песок, гравий и торф добываются в карьерах вблизи сел Овошник и Черганово. Вблизи сел Канчево и Бузовград расположены гранитные карьеры. Гранит используется для изготовления бордюрного камня, брусчатки и других строительных материалов.
Водные ресурсы
Долина Казанлака дренируется рекой Тунджа и её притоками. Река Тунджа берёт начало в самой высокой части Балкан к востоку от горы Ботев, протекает через несколько равнин – Калоферскую, Казанлакска, Сливенскую, Ямбольскую и Эльховскую, и впадает в реку Марицу. Общая длина её болгарского участка составляет , а площадь водосборного бассейна – . Река медленно течёт в долине Казанлак у северных склонов горы Средна-Гора. Среднегодовой расход воды увеличивается в южном направлении. На плотине Копринка он составляет в среднем литров в секунду, или около литров в год; в деревне Кнежа – литров в секунду, или литров в год. Однако этот объём воды распределён неравномерно в течение года. Максимальный наблюдается весной (апрель и май) из-за интенсивного таяния снега и обильных весенних дождей. Среднегодовой расход воды реки Энинска в деревне Энина составляет литров в секунду. Максимальный расход воды приходится на апрель и май и составляет и литров в секунду соответственно. Минимальный – в сентябре, литров в секунду. Эти притоки (особенно река Энинска) характеризуются обилием аллювиальных отложений. Многие овраги спускаются по склонам холма Тулбето (расположенного в северо-восточной части города), когда выпадают сильные дожди или тает снег, и несут в реку Энинска тяжёлые аллювиальные образования. В двух-трёх километрах к северу от Казанлака реки Энинска и Кранска соединены дренажной системой, отводящей воду от города. К югу от города расположена другая дренажная система, которая отводит воды, исчезающие в аллювиальных конусах рек Энинска и Кранска, в реку Тунджа.
Культура
Казанлык имеет давнюю и прочную традицию в области культуры и просвещения. Уже в самом начале Возрождения жители Казанлака открывали школы и культурно-просветительские центры, включая Казанлакскую педагогическую школу, которая готовила учителей для всей страны. Для многих известных болгарских художников и деятелей искусства это место стало началом их жизни и творчества. Культурным центром Казанлака является читалище "Искра", основанное в 1860 году. Оно включает в себя библиотеку, театр, кинотеатр и музей. Именно здесь состоялась премьера первой болгарской оперы "Сиромахкиня". Исторический музей города Искра
Исторический музей города Искра – один из первых провинциальных городских музеев в Болгарии. Он был основан 29 июня 1901 года Петром Топузовым – энергичным предпринимателем из Казанлака, по решению руководителей Учебного клуба "Искра". В музее "Искра" хранится более 50 000 экспонатов, раскрывающих историю Казанлыкского края с древнейших времен до наших дней. В течение активного туристического сезона организуются временные выставки с ценными предметами из коллекции музея и экспозиции, предоставленные другими музеями.
Музей роз
Музей является частью Исторического музея "Искра" в Казанлаке. В 1967 году была создана небольшая экспозиция, посвященная сбору роз в Казанлаке и регионе. В 1969 году экспозиция выросла в самостоятельный музей. В настоящее время в Музее розы хранится более 15 000 экспонатов, связанных со сбором и производством роз в Болгарии. Экспозиция музея включает оригинальные картины и документы, отражающие развитие розоводства, инструменты для обработки розовых садов, емкости для хранения и экспорта розового масла и розовой воды. В музее восстановлены склад для роз и первая лаборатория по исследованию розового масла, созданная в 1912 году. Этнографический комплекс Кулата
Очаровательная мощёная улица Мирска находится в старейшей части города – районе Кулата, недалеко от всемирно известной фракийской гробницы Казанлык. Здесь можно увидеть традиционную архитектуру периода болгарского национального возрождения (XVIII–XIX веков). Традиционные здания составляют этнографический комплекс Кулата, восстановленный и открытый для посетителей с 1976 года. Они переносят нас в уникальную и разнообразную материальную культуру болгар Казанлыкского региона прошлого. Ещё до входа в ворота посетители слышат стук молотов медников, рассказывающих об этом типичном местном ремесле. Напротив – мастерская скрипичных дел, а рядом – ювелирная мастерская. Сельский дом уютно расположился среди кустарников и деревьев. Он одноэтажный и асимметричный, типичный для домов Балканской долины конца XVIII – начала XIX века. В отреставрированных домах эпохи болгарского Возрождения воссоздан быт жителей региона конца XIX – начала XX века. Экспонаты хранятся в отделе этнографии. Казанлык в недалеком прошлом был известен как ремесленный город. Посетители могут попробовать продукцию розовой промышленности – варенье, ликёр и гюловицу (розовый бренди).
Национальный парк Бузлуджа
Национальный парк Бузлуджа возвышается к востоку от перевала Шипка. Это очень важная часть болгарской истории – здесь, 30 июля 1868 года, Хаджи Димитар пал в бою. Национальный парк Шипка
Национальный парк Шипка основан на той же территории, где в 1870-х годах шли кровопролитные сражения Русско-турецкой освободительной войны. Он представляет собой комплекс мемориальных досок, памятников, траншей и бункеров, напоминающих о тех боях. На вершине горы Шипка возвышается "Памятник Свободы". Он был построен на добровольные пожертвования болгарского народа по проекту архитектора Атанаса Донкова и скульптора Александра Андреева. Официальное открытие памятника состоялось в 1934 году. Экспозиции памятника рассказывают о героизме русских солдат и болгарских ополченцев во время пятимесячной обороны Шипкинского перевала. Мемориальная церковь Шипки
Мемориальная церковь Шипки находится к северу от Казанлака, у южного подножия гор Стара-Планина, недалеко от города Шипка. Она была возведена после обретения Болгарией независимости в память о русских и болгарских воинах, павших в боях. Золотые купола и зелёно-розовый фасад величественно возвышаются над горами, привлекая внимание путешественников, проезжающих через Шипкинский перевал. Проект церкви, выполненный чешским архитектором А. И. Томишко, основан на русской церковной архитектуре XVII века с использованием арок, фризов, фронтонов и позолоченных орнаментов. Главный вход украшен тремя арками, увенчанными характерным высоким шпилем колокольни. В колокольне установлено 17 колоколов, самый тяжёлый из которых весит около 100 кг. Иконостас, выполненный из липы, богато украшен позолоченными резными деталями и представляет большую художественную ценность. Иконы были переданы русскими монахами из монастыря Святого Пантелеимона на горе Афон в Греции. Имена русских полков и имена погибших русских и болгарских воинов выгравированы на 34 мраморных плитах, встроенных в стены церкви. В склепе хранятся останки русских солдат, погибших на Шипкинском перевале (1877–78), помещённые в 17 каменных саркофагах. Торжественное освящение Мемориальной церкви Шипки состоялось 27 сентября 1902 года.
Фракийская гробница Казанлака
Гробница является частью большого фракийского некрополя. Она состоит из узкого коридора и круглой погребальной камеры, обе украшены фресками, изображающими фракийскую пару во время ритуального погребального пира. Памятник датируется IV веком до нашей эры и включен в список Всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО с 1979 года. Фрески примечательны великолепными изображениями лошадей и жестом прощания, в котором сидящая пара сжимает запястья друг друга в момент нежности и равенства (по мнению Людмилы Живковой – точка зрения, не разделяемая всеми специалистами). Эти росписи – лучшие сохранившиеся художественные шедевры Болгарии эпохи эллинизма. Гробница расположена недалеко от древней фракийской столицы Сеутхополиса, в регионе, где обнаружено более тысячи гробниц царей и представителей фракийской аристократии. Изображение сидящей женщины с фресок помещено на оборотной стороне болгарской монеты номиналом 50 стотинок, выпущенной в 2005 году.
Могила Косматки
Одним из самых впечатляющих памятников фракийской цивилизации в Долине фракийских царей является героион (храмовая гробница героя царского статуса) Сеута III. Летом 2004 года группа болгарских археологов обнаружила большой, нетронутый фракийский мавзолей, датируемый V веком до н.э., недалеко от болгарского города Шипка, в муниципалитете Казанлык. Литературно-художественный музей "Чудомир"
Среди наиболее интересных достопримечательностей города – дом известного болгарского писателя, художника и общественного деятеля Димитара Чорбаджийского, известного под псевдонимом Чудомир (1890–1967). Дом был объявлен музеем годом после его смерти, в 1968 году, и в настоящее время имеет статус национального историко-культурного памятника, что подтверждено протоколом № 15 Государственного реестра от 3 декабря 1968 года. Розовая промышленность
Город расположен на восточном конце знаменитой Долины роз. Фестиваль роз впервые был проведен в 1903 году и с тех пор традиционно проводится в первые выходные июня. Именно в это время расцветает нежная маслянистая роза Казанлык, наполняя воздух своим ароматом.
